Five minutes after meeting me (I was mid 'how I quit drinking' story, told in detail here), a now fabulous friend, described me to someone as a 'delightful non-alcoholic bipolar girl', later that night, she took my by the shoulders and said, "You need a blog! Go home and start a blog, now!" (something that another dear friend had been saying to me for forever). Well, turns out that I did go home and I set-up a blog, but it was not until a few months later that I wrote my first post: Crazy on Paper.
It was something that I had been wanting to do for a long long time and I finally got brave enough. For me, the brave part was not revealing that I have a mental illness (I am pretty open about that and I wish that more people were), it was doing so in a format that I have no control over once I hit "publish post". It still gives me a touch of anxiety each time I do it, but I love it.
I live in the arts district of downtown LA with my husband, 2 dogs and a cat. I also love my old-school paper planner, fabulous shoes and my job. I eat cereal for dinner more than I care to admit and I am obsessed with cocktail rings too.
And I love giving voice to what it means to be me: a girl in her 30s who is bipolar and living a not-quite-normal, normal life.
It's been said that I have more than one superpower (thanks Ronnie!), but that crazy is just the best one... I'll leave that for you to decide!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will come again soon!!!!
Say hi if you feel so inclined!
